Diesel and Ebony
These two sweet dogs are very cute together. One is a younger neutered male (Diesel) and the other is a spayed female (Ebony). It seems Diesel is younger and more active than Ebony who loves to be the type to go along to get along. Diesel will bark and explore while Ebony will just hang out and wait for petting. These two are attached at the hip and I saw something I hadn’t witnessed before which was very interesting.
I loaded both guy and girl up in crates in the back of my car and they traveled fine to the Jensens. When we got there, I took Ebony out first and walked her around so that she could get some water and noodle around a bit without Diesel. We sniffed for about a minute and got no farther than about 10 yards from the car because she would not go any farther away from her friend. When we got close to the back of the car, I couldn’t let Diesel out yet while we were waiting for Mr. Jensen to move some dogs around the kennels, so Ebony kept trying to climb back into her crate (which she couldn’t do by herself because she is older and my car is a Suburban so the back was too high. She would not just hang out I think from fear they were going to be split up, so I helped her into her crate and she was completely fine sitting with the door open as long as she was next to Diesel.
Of course when Diesel was let out, then she was ready to jump out and go to the kennel with him, it was very interesting to watch, she obviously is the protector while he is the explorer. I guess the owner was going to come and pick them up but never did. (Jerks, but they need medical so maybe the owners didn’t want to pay for it or something)
These two are extremely sweet and well mannered. They passed all the tests the shelter gave them with flying colors, so they would be fine with children and they were very good with other dogs. Both know sit and stay, but Diesel was too excited to sit or stay very long. They are funny because Diesel is big and skinny and Ebony is smaller and chubbier.
Right now they both have medical issues, Diesel has a large growth slightly smaller than a baseball on his hindquarters and Ebony had a bleeding tail along with some bad teeth. Both need medical attention as soon as we can get them it to figure out what is wrong with them.
Please keep these sweet guys in mind for a loving home that can hopefully keep them together.
